Remember Me - Requrdame guitar
“Remember Me/Requerdame” is a song, one the best songs in my opinion, from the motion picture “Coco”.
I sang an arrangement of this song with my Chorus in school and no matter what age on the stage or in the audience, everyone is absolutely in love with this song.
While noodling the tune on my guitar between classes, I ended up making my own fingerstyle guitar arrangement of the song.
The melody is absolutely beautiful and so memorable. Just listen to it a couple times, maybe sing along once or twice, and you’ll be hooked. The interval combinations and the simplicity mixed with beauty and taste make for a melody that you won’t soon forget.
The harmonies are also quite unexpected. The first chord change that’ll stand out to most listeners, even those who may not know enough music theory to understand what’s going on, is the minor 4th chord in the first stanza. I play my arrangement in D Major, so that minor 4th chord ends up being a G minor - I actually ended up playing a G minor 6 there, so I added an E on the top string.
