Tony Evans Study Bible Review
I listened to quite a few sermons by Tony Evans over the years but I never read one of his books, nor used his Study Bible. LifeWay sent me a copy of the Tony Evans Study Bible and I am going to create a few blog posts and videos to share what I think about it.
After looking at each section of this study Bible, I do recommend it for light Bible study, for deep devotionals, and also for learning or reviewing the basic concepts and doctrines of the Christian faith.
I received the hard copy version, but there are multiple formats available, including a great variety of leather-cover formats in different colors and finishes.
Here are some features of this study Bible:
More than 150 videos of sermons, devotionals, and teaching from Dr. Evans accessible via QR codes
40 inspirational articles
50 “Kingdom Living Lessons”
60 “Questions & Answers”
140 “Hope Words”
Special back matter section with key definitions, theological and doctrinal charts, and other study helps
Page-edge cross-reference system
Elegant two-color design
Two-column format
Black-letter text
9.75-point type size
Topical subject headings
Smyth-sewn binding with ribbon marker
Concordance
Bible reading plan
Presentation page and special introductory front matter
Full-color maps
I would say that two of my most favorite features are the explanation notes at the bottom of each page where readers can get great insight on verses or shorter passages on those specific pages, as well as the QR Code feature that allows readers to access additional video resources.
I will certainly use this for a while and get back in here to share more feedback. One thing I am looking forward to experiencing is the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) version which I have never read before. I cannot wait to compare that version to my favorite so far: the NIV84 version.
