MOVO UM800
I am a MOVO fan for sure! I’ve used the VXR10 mic for almost a year now. I love it because it allows me to just plug into my iPhone, hit record, hit stop, no sound editing, and I’m done. Here is the VXR10 - you can click on the link below the photo to check it out for yourself.

I recently received the newest MOVO microphone model: the UM800. This is a much larger unit and it can be connected to a computer, an iPhone, or an Android. While the VXR10 is much smaller and quite portable, the UM800 is more of a tabletop unit. It has a larger, heavier body and needs to sit on a built-in base. Here is what it looks like, and you can also click on the link below the picture to buy it for yourself.
Below you can see my unboxing video. In this video, I open the item and show its basic features, without plugging it in.
Fo my first DEMO video, I plugged the MOVO UM800 into a MacBook Air. The video includes comparison segments for speaking and guitar-playing applications, and I recorded with the microphone unplugged and then with it plugged in, for comparison.
For my second DEMO video, I plugged the UM800 into an iPhone 14 and recorded speaking as well as some guitar music, like in the first video, and I recorded with and without the microphone plugged in, for comparison.
I’ve had this microphone for a week now, and I already like it a lot. I am planning to use this at a location where I record more often, and use the VXR10 for more mobile applications. I do not own a stable, one-location studio. I sometimes record in my classroom, sometimes at home, sometimes at church, and even in my car. I am planning to use the VXR10 on the go and the UM800 in my classroom or at home. Either way, I do like both microphones a lot and I am looking forward to using them for a long time coming. Thanks for reading.
