“O Christmas Tree”
Here is a brand new, original arrangement of “O Christmas Tree” (“O Tannenbaum”) for the classical guitar.
This is an Intermediate-Level arrangement in the key of D Major, with a brief excursion into the key of D Minor and then back to the original key.
The song has not always been associated with Christmas. The melody is inspired by a 16th Century folk song and the lyrics were written by the German organist Ernst Anschütz in 1824 (Liepzig). Even in the 1824 version, the song is in no way associated with Christmas. Instead, the lyrics make mention of the Evergreen Tree as a symbol of faithfulness and reliability.
I have a full score of this arrangement available for instant download in my store. If you want to try and learn this piece, you can find the arrangement here.
The guitar I am playing on is a Kremona 90th Anniversary. I bought this guitar a few days ago and I am very fond of it. If you want to try it for yourself, you can click on the link below.
I used a MOVO VXR10 USB Microphone to record this video.
Here’s a video I recorded for your reference. I hope you like this arrangement and I hope you give it a try. If you do, let me know in a comment below or in a short email (use the “Contact” button above).
